Der Startplatz erhielt seinen Namen nach der Felsformation, die oberhalb des Startplatzes emporragt. Aus der Ferne betrachtet hat sie die Form einer Dampflokomotive. Wer bei der Navette am falschen Ende gespart hat und nicht sein Ticket bis zum Col Rodella gelöst, muss jetzt mit einem erhöhten Pilotenaufkommen am Startplatz rechnen. Dazu erwartet den Piloten noch ein kleiner und steiler Startplatz, mit einem allerdings beeindruckenden Ausblick auf die steile Felswand des Piz Ciavazes. Wer hier startet sollte sich im Klaren sein, dass er entlang der Wand nur einen Versuch hat um Höhe zu gewinnen. Sonst reicht der Gleitwinkel nicht mehr bis zum offiziellen Landeplatz in Canazei oder Campitello. Stattdessen erwartet den Piloten eine anspruchsvolle und abenteuerliche Außenlandung im Bachbett.
