Der Speikboden hat sich immer mehr zum XC Startgelände entwickelt. Von hier wurden bereits große Dreiecke mit weit über 100 km geflogen. Außerdem bietet sich an, das Pustertal rauf und runter zu fliegen. Der Startplatz befindet sich unweit der Gipfelstation am "Speikboden" (Sonnklar-Lift) auf einer Wiese. Der Landeplatz Ahornach / Sand ist großräumig. Infotafel am Landeplatz. Die Seilbahn fährt im Sommer von ca. Mitte Juni bis Oktober. Speikboden- und Sonnklarlift sind für Flieger bei Talfahrt kostenlos.
