The Hündle (1,112 m) above the Hündlebahn near Oberstaufen in the Allgäu is held by the Paragliding Academy, and visiting pilots are welcome. With about 300 m of height difference it suits beginners, schooling and short flights rather than long cross-country.
The Hündlebahn gondola takes you from the valley station to about 1,050 m, a short walk from launch, or you can hike up. The car park is free with a lift ticket.
The north launch is easy and flat near the top station; the west launch needs at least a high-end A wing and suits the afternoon best. The east launch requires an immediate 90-degree left turn and is only usable without cows. Land on L1 or the mown meadow L2, never in tall grass.
Best from about 1 pm, when the valley wind turns north and blows straight onto launch, making soaring usually possible. Ideal wind is N to NNE. Keep plenty of clearance from the gondola and the power line in the valley when crossing them.
Pay the launch and landing fee by PayPal (with your name) per day or year; the receipt is your proof. Ground handling is allowed all year on L1 only, on L2 only when mown, and not at all at L3 and L4.
The Hündlebahn runs in summer (from the spring crocus bloom to early November) and in winter; check the current opening times before you fly.

1. Bei Schulungsbetrieb benötigen alle Schüler eine sichere Hörverbindung zum Fluglehrer. 2. Schulungsbetrieb muss mit je einem Fluglehrer am Start- und Landeplatz durchgeführt werden. 3. Bei Starts oberhalb der Seilbahn muss darauf geachtet werden, dass sich im Start- und Abflugbereich keine Personen befinden. 4. Beim Start vom Startplatz 1 muss die Seilbahn überflogen werden. Beim Überflug ist darauf zu achten, dass vertikal und horizontal ausreichender Sicherheitsabstand einzuhalten ist. Die Bestimmungen der FBO sind drin-gend einzuhalten. 5. Zur Bundesstraße im Norden, der Baumreihe im Osten und der Stromlei-tung entlang der südlichen Grenze des Landeplatzes ist ausreichend Si-cherheitsabstand einzuhalten (Es gelten die Bestimmungen der FBO). 6. Die Position der Platzrunde ist südlich des Landeplatzes zu legen
