The Tegelberg rises beside Neuschwanstein Castle at Schwangau: launch at the top station, landing 900 m below at the valley station car park. This busy, touristy mountain with a small launch suits experienced pilots best.
The Tegelbergbahn cable car climbs almost 900 m from the valley station in Schwangau to launch; show your licence and insurance there or you won't be taken up. The valley station car park charges a fee.
The main launch (1,707 m) has two runs facing NW and NE. Two lower launches, Grüble and Rohrkopfsattel, are usable only outside the ski season. At the large landing field by the valley station (807 m), paragliders and hang gliders land in separate areas.
The prevailing wind is north; launch only in turbulence-free conditions. In stronger southerly wind, usually with föhn, the mountain is unsuitable. At the landing field the wind is usually north to north-east, flown with a right-hand pattern.
You need a licence, liability cover from €1.5 million, the green card and a landing ticket. Keep 150 m above launches and cables, 300 m above the valley station and castles. Launching or landing in the Säuling reserve is banned.
The cable car runs almost all year, closing for maintenance in spring and late autumn; check the operator's page for current times.

Dann mit gerafftem Schirm zum Start. Jeder Pilot benötigt eine neue "Grüne Einweisungskarte". An der Talstation müssen auch Pilotenlizenz und Versicherungsnachweis vorgelegt werden, sonst kein Transport mit der Bahn. Wichtig: genügend Sicherheitsabstand zur Bergbahn einhalten! Landevolte unbedingt beachten: getrennter Gleitschirm-und Drachenlandeplatz. Straße mit mind. 10 m Höhe überfliegen. Der Tandemflugbetrieb ist durch die Tegelbergbahn geregelt. Es dürfen nur Flüge von zugelassenen Anbietern mit Zustimmung der Tegelbergbahn durchgeführt werden. Private Tandemflüge sind nicht gestattet.
